OpenWrt on my Linksys box!

January 6th, 2006 · No Comments

Sat up the whole of last night (well, till 3:30AM) - but that was worth the effort! Got OpenWrt running on my Linksys WRT54G! The `white russian’ development
environment was also set up properly - I can now write kernel modules and run them on the Linksys box!

Learn’t one thing from the whole exercise (the hard way - a sleepless night and around 200Mb of downloads): when your build fails, you might have to check your
version of `make’! Don’t try building OpenWrt with GNU make version less than 3.80!

Ubuntu can be a good development environment, if you just download and install a few packages. I did the whole thing in Ubuntu.

Will write in detail about the whole exercise soon …..
