Microsoft's suicide note

The Vista Content Protection specification could very well constitute the longest suicide note in history. Read A Cost Analysis of Windows Vista Content Protection Read Analysis of Microsoft's suicide note Bill.G has certainly started showing signs of senility! A common argument which I hear from people who haven't understood the idea behind Free Software clearly is : "This software has been created by *me*, I can do whatever I want with it, who the hell are you to question it?". MS has taken this idea of `ownership' to ridiculuos heights with the pervasive implementation of `content protection' in Vista - the fact that they have created Windows doesn't give them the power to dictate what consumers should do with their machines. If they believe otherwise, they might very well be digging their own grave.
