GNU/Linux and Embedded Systems programming workshop at College of Engineering, Trivandrum

I was at College of Engineering, Trivandrum on 28th of February to conduct a full day workshop as part of an IEEE event. There were participants from Engineering Colleges all over Kerala as well as from other states.

The first session of the workshop provided an introduction to the GNU/Linux commandline. The afternoon session was devoted to simple experiments using Energia and the TI launchpad boards. Towards the end of the workshop, I demonstrated how you can throw away stuff like Energia and directly program the microcontroller by manipulating registers - I provided a very high level view of concepts like linker scripts, startup code etc.
